Financial Data Analyst – Network & Telecom Cost Management for a large retail client

Our client is Canada's largest retailer. They are looking for a Financial Data Analyst to support network and telecom cost control, validation, and forecasting across thousands of retail locations.

This role is highly data-intensive and delivery-focused. The successful candidate will work with large billing data sets, validate and reconcile costs at the individual store level, and produce clear, reliable outputs that support forecasting and decision-making. The focus is on data accuracy, manipulation, and insight, primarily using Excel.

Location: Brampton (3-4 days/week to start)

Duration: Until December 2026 to start

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate and reconcile telecom and network billing data across a large retail footprint
• Analyze individual store bills and identify discrepancies or anomalies
• Forecast telecom and network costs using historical and current data
• Compare vendor-provided CSV files (e.g., Rogers) against internal records
• Support internal technical teams by validating line counts and helping rationalize phone and data lines per store
• Build, maintain, and improve Excel-based reports for cost tracking and forecasting
• Ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple data sources
• Translate large volumes of raw data into clear, usable outputs for internal stakeholders

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• Strong background in financial analysis or data analysis
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, large worksheets)
• Experience working with large data sets and CSV files
• Ability to manipulate, reconcile, and validate data with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong delivery mindset - able to take direction, apply feedback, and produce results consistently

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Microsoft-based databases (e.g., Access)
• Exposure to telecom, network, or infrastructure cost analysis (not mandatory)
