Description
Our client is currently seeking a Data Centre Project Manager to lead the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of mission-critical data centre facilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to technical specifications.
Location: Oakville
Hybrid: 1 day per week in office in Oakville
Key Responsibilities
Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee end-to-end project execution from initiation, design, and construction to final handover, including managing site activities.
Budget & Schedule Control: Develop, manage, and report on project budgets, cost forecasts, and detailed schedules (critical path analysis).
Design & Construction Coordination: Ensure compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and safety protocols for structural, electrical, and mechanical (MEP) components.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Serve as the single point of contact, coordinating with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal operations teams.
Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies.
Commissioning & Handover: Manage testing, commissioning, and final documentation handover.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Proven experience in managing medium-to-large-scale construction projects, specifically in data centres or mission-critical facilities.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure (UPS, generators, cooling systems, IT cabling).
Project Management Expertise: Proficiency in project management software and methodologies (e.g., PMP certification is often preferred).
Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage on-site safety and quality standards.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical), Construction Management, or related field.
