CONTRACT TO PERM- Senior Manager, Product Management - Structured Notes and Global Equity Derivatives - 38736
Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto - 3 days per week - subject to change/increase
Contract Duration: 6 months (MUST CONVERT TO PERM)
Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week
Title: Senior Manager, Product Management (Structured Notes - Global Equity Derivative)
Story Behind the Need
- Business group: GBME - covering Options business, Delta 1 business and structured notes business
- Project: The Senior Manager, Product Management will be responsible for implementation of products for GBM trading with a focus on Global Equity Derivative - Structured Notes business that will address the need of our business globally and further the modernization mandate.
- Supporting Trading application (Peak) used by the front office team - users are spread across Canada and US and some in Mexico - plan to expand into Europe in 2026
- Resource - 2 components: RFQ - building request for quote by integrating with different external venues; 2nd - in built application called Icarus - phase to decommission it and integrate into Peak platform
Typical Day in Role:
- Responsible for managing a deliverable and solutioning of products to help grow the structured notes business
- Collaborate with the cross-functional teams including engineering & development, business lines and other technology and product teams to build the right products with high quality, on time and within budget.
- Continuously perform customer need analysis and understand business pain points. Identify the biggest problems to solve to build & own the roadmap.
- Effectively communicate and continuously engage & cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in front to back office and in technology, and partner with them to help drive the strategy of the department.
- Prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to ensure quality product launches.
- Not a people manager though they are expected to mentor and come out with roadmap and can execute towards the roadmap
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 8+ years of financial technology experience, with strong solutioning, architecture/technical background
2) 5+ years’ experience with capital markets trading and products with a focus on trade capture, with understanding of the end-to-end trade life cycle
3) 5+ years’ experience in building solutions, developing trading application products and have successfully achieved it through a sound execution strategy, managing sprint planning, backlog grooming, and aligning deliverables with business priorities.
4) Experience with SQL
5) 6+ years hands on experience with the software development lifecycle, leading technical specification discussions with developers as well as SIT/UAT testing efforts
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Experience with front office trading desk and sales
2) Experience with / good understanding of derivative product pricing
3) Familiar with derivative products such as: Options, Total Return Swaps, Equity Linked Structured notes issuance workflows and documentation processes is a strong asset.
4) Experience with API Testing using tools such as Postman
5) Experience with development: Python, Web Based UX, VBA, Low code no code framework
Education:
Bachelor’s in technical field preferred

• Feedback from previous hires: Candidates from market risk area on business side or P&L analyst on business side in equity derivatives space and moved on to become a rapid developer on the desk side in financial engineering group (app development for trading desk) and become a BA or PM in technology
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver working results.
• Experience gathering requirements and delivering trading applications.
