As a Business Analyst, you are passionate about business analysis, implementation, support and improvements of Risk management and analysis systems and Risk model implementations. You will play a key role underlying all initiative delivery. Your responsibility is to understand, document and facilitate agreement on requirements, approaches, specifications, and decision variables that enable the delivery of appropriate solutions to achieve the business and project goals. You will elicit client needs and ensure requirements traceability as part of delivering applications and information solutions for internal business partners.
You will join the Product Engineer team to deliver business value through defined outcomes. In this dynamic role, teamwork will be the key to your success as you work with members in different roles, such as business analysis, development, testing etc. You will also work with other functional teams including Technology enablement, Project Management etc. You will work in Technology teams or Project teams
Responsibilities:
- Engages business clients to elicit business requirements and understand objectives and works with business and solution teams to ensure that solutions being delivered meet their business intent and provide business value.
- Produces business analysis related documentation, functional specifications, current and future state processes and workflows, and solution specifications to a high-quality standard.
- Conceives, proposes, and facilitates the selection of viable functional solution alternatives.
- Documents the flow and transformation of data from enterprise to risk data repositories.
- Demonstrates requirements traceability and, where appropriate, leads the User Acceptance phase of initiatives (define strategy, plan, approve test cases, oversee execution). Works with Business, Product Owner, Solutions Engineering and QA to ensure built solutions meet stated requirements.
- Participates in the initiation and planning of new projects including facilitating the definition of objectives, scope, BA approach and WBS as well as provides work estimates.
- Works with Development and QA members to develop test plans and ensure they understand the business requirements and can test solutions appropriately.
- Works with Agile delivery teams to map user stories and define user acceptance criteria for work packages.
- Contributes to the operation and improvement of the delivery team.
- Exercise appropriate judgment in identifying and calling out risks and issues.
Experience:
- Experience with the following technologies is an asset: PL/SQL, MS SQL, Snowflake, Python, Multi- dimensional Database, Jira, Excel Power Pivot, MS Visio
- Experience with financial instruments valuation and risk calculation, risk management technologies, approaches, and practices (including Liquidity Risk, Market Risk, Credit Risk, financial modeling, and Monte Carlo simulations);’
- Strong knowledge and experience in risk measurement methodologies (VaR, Sensitivities, Option Greeks, Stress Testing)
- Experience of relative risk valuation with benchmark is an asset
- Extensive knowledge of institutional investment products including Exchange-traded products, Derivatives and/or Private and Alternative Investments
- University degree or equivalent experience (Business/Finance, Financial Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering)
- Asset would be one or more of: CFA, FRM, MBA or CBAP; Process improvement methodology accreditation
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in one or more of the following roles:(Senior) Business Analyst or Business Consultant or BSA or Risk Analyst Product Manager or Product Owner
- Ability to leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate analytics and deliverables efficiently and responsibly
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines
- Superb communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, collaborating effectively with business, delivery, and technology partners
- Experience collaborating with product-oriented delivery and technology teams to deliver solutions that take on business problems and meet business requirements
- Robust understanding of agile and waterfall project management delivery methodologies and the difference between needs and wants
