Description
The Opportunity
As a Business Analyst in an agile Core Trading team, you are passionate about business analysis. With your deep understanding of capital market products, Core Trading business processes and security master and reference data knowledge, you will have the opportunity to apply business analysis practices and product knowledge to enable the delivery of the Cloud Data Migration project to achieve business outcomes and benefits. This is a hands-on role that proactively applies analysis expertise in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Who you will work with
You will be part of the Cloud Data Migration project team working on delivering the migration of data and components to Snowflake and cloud. In this dynamic role, teamwork will be the key to your success as you work collaboratively within a cross functional team such as Product Engineers, QAs Product Owner, solution architect and BA peers. You will be performing extensive analysis on current components/services and data linage to understand existing logic to identify migration source in Snowflake. You will be conducting requirement gathering sessions from key stakeholders and document requirements, future processes and use cases to ensure the components/services and data migration solution delivers the intended business outcomes in a sustainable manner.
What you will do
- Perform analysis on all components and services using on prem EDB database. Conduct data mapping analysis between current data source (EDB) and target data source(Snowflake)
- Creates business analysis related materials, (e.g. functional and non-functional requirements in the form of user stories, workflows, functional specifications, data mapping, etc.) with appropriate detail and quality for internal development and testing teams to consume and complete their respective deliverables
- Conceives, proposes and facilitates the selection of viable functional solution alternatives
- Works with business and solution teams to ensure that solutions are delivered in a timely manner and meet intended business value and benefits
- Demonstrates requirements/user stories traceability and, where appropriate, leads the User Acceptance phase of initiatives (coordinate and support UAT test cases creation and execution).
- Actively participates in the analysis, story mapping and documentation process, provides Business Analysis work estimates, grooms user stories to vendor consultants or internal solution teams to ensure clear understanding
- Contributes to the operation and improvement of the delivery team
- Provides knowledge transfer and handover to Business Analyst peers, product team members, and application support teams as required, to foster team learning and ensure post implementation support
- Advocates, creates and maintains product documentation in persistent information repositories (Confluence and/or SharePoint)
- Builds solid partnerships with Business Partners, Product Owners, Product Engineering and Quality Assurance teams, and other key stakeholders
What you will need
- University degree or equivalent experience (Business/Finance, Financial Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering)
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in business analysis or product management in the institutional investment industry
- Extensive knowledge of institutional investment products across all asset classes: Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, Futures & Options
- Knowledge of the following business applications & technologies is an asset: Charles River, Bloomberg, PL/SQL, AI Coding, Prompt Engineering, Snowflake
- Prior project experiences with data migration will be a definite asset.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with proactive customer focus mindset
- Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, collaborating effectively with business, delivery and technology partners
- Robust understanding of agile (e.g. Kanban) and iterative project management delivery methodologies and the difference between needs and wants
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with multiple levels of clients, team and partners
