Our valued non-profit client is seeking a Bilingual Data & Analytics Officer to develop and execute data strategy, governance and architecture, while leveraging the power of analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to create an organizational advantage!

Permanent full-time role in Ottawa, ON. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

As the successful candidate, you will ensure database performance, security, and scalability while collaborating with development and analytics teams; working with technologies such as SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Data Lakehouses, Power BI, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities:

• Providing expertise on governance and utilization of information as an asset, via data processing, analysis, data mining, information trading and other means.
• Assisting the organization in making data driven decisions by anticipating and detecting trends within the data through the power of analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).
• Leading the planning, design, architecture, and implementation of Data Management systems, and practices, and projects on different platforms (Data Integration, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, etc.) projects and phases.
• Providing technical advice, guidance and leadership on the security and protection of personal identifiable information within all database management systems and related software.
• Designing and implementing visual dashboards utilizing tools such as PowerBI and provide a self-service Business Intelligence system
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining a modern Data Hub, Service Bus, Data Warehouse and analytical platform.
• Managing projects related to data and AI and coordinating project team work during project development and implementation and overseeing completion of assigned tasks within expected timeframes.
• Performing database administration support including performing installations and upgrades, testing database backup and recovery plans, documenting vendor and open data source systems and managing the technical side of the data analytics operations.
• Updating and/or preparing Standard Operating procedures for database management systems and applications including business rules, base products and customizations including flows and processes.
• Analyzing data and intelligence and transferring confidential and sensitive data between systems including Human Resources, Finance, Membership.

Must Have Skills:

• Excellent communication skills in English and French
• In-depth experience with Data analytics & corporate Data Governance
• Strong knowledge and experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Crystal Reports.
• Experience implementing data ecosystems with high data volume, high throughput, and various content structures, in an Azure environment
• Experience implementing Data Analytical Systems utilizing historical and real-time data from multiple systems.
• Experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering and analysis of diverse user data and systems needs to develop solutions.
• Experience in data strategic planning and initiative designs to develop data strategies that fit in with both the long and short term and be readily adaptable.
• Extensive experience with the programing languages: Python, R, VB.net, C#, SQL.
• Demonstrated experience in project management.
• Strong knowledge of current data privacy practices and laws such as PIPEDA and GDPR.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Knowledge of Nintex workflow, Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Power Automate is an asset.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, T-SQL, or Python for automation scripting
• Strong experience working with Azure Data Lake, Data Lakehouses, and cloud-based database solutions.
• Exposure to Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or other AI-driven / Big Data solutions.
