Position Title: Email Developer - SFMC

12 months

Hybrid - in office every Thursday and every fourth Friday of the month.

Office Location: 81 Bay Street


What does the LOB do: Responsible for all client-facing communications, including promotional campaigns, service messages, and updates related to banking services. This includes email/SMS communications about offers, changes impacting clients (e.g., postal strikes), and digital banking initiatives. The Digital & Direct Executions team leverages customer data and insights to deliver meaningful communications through Marketing Automation.


Project:

Expanding the team to support a growing portfolio specifically Private Wealth.

Business-as-Usual (BAU) activities - building and deploying client-facing email campaigns in SFMC, optimizing existing templates, and supporting marketing automation journeys. The candidates need to have end-to-end experience with development. Checking the look and feel of an eMail (i.e. can utilize a PDF document and build an eMail accordingly). Candidates need to be able to work independently and assist others whenever there is capacity.



Job Description:

The Email Developer will be responsible for building and deploying email campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). This includes coding responsive emails, cloud pages, Mobile Studio, integrating AMPscript for personalization, and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and accessibility standards. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create templates, manage standardized modules, and set up data integration points to support marketing automation journeys across email, SMS, and digital channels.


You will also optimize campaigns for deliverability and engagement, perform rigorous QA/testing, troubleshoot rendering issues across devices, and stay current with email marketing trends and best practices. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple campaigns concurrently in a fast-paced environment.


Must Have Requirement:

• 2+ years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud email development.

• 2+ Strong proficiency in AMPscript for dynamic content.

• 2+ Hands-on experience with responsive HTML/CSS for email design and media queries.

• Familiarity with Email Studio, CloudPages, and Mobile Studio.

• Working knowledge of Data Extensions, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio.

• QA/testing experience using tools like Litmus or Email on Acid

• Ability to troubleshoot rendering issues across multiple email clients/devices.

• Experience with dynamic content and segmentation strategies.

• Workfront experience or equivalent (Jira)


Nice to Have:

• Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (Email Specialist, Developer).

• Familiarity with Journey Builder and Automation Studio.
