About the Role:

This is a senior-level individual contributor position focused entirely on technical delivery - there are no management or supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.

You will be working in a cross-functional team, using agile methodologies to build on-prem and cloud native applications for the financial services industry. We are looking for true team players who can work beyond their specialty to help the team deliver. Every team member is responsible for the quality of the product and should be willing to work on any tasks needed, be it front-end, back end, test automation, deployment automation, etc… The successful candidate will use their experience and talent to help drive the delivery of the system, introduce new tech and guide the evolution of our applications.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

• Participate and contribute on all team activities such as Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective
• Develop front end React components
• Develop backend services using Node.js frameworks such as hono/NestJS
• Develop and test server-side code using Java, Hibernate, and Spring
• Be comfortable using relational databases and knowledge of SQL
• Perform peer reviews and ensure the quality of the team’s work
• Design and implement unit, integration, and automation tests
• Responsible for code integration and code deployment of existing modules as well as provide new pipelines for new modules (CI/CD)
• Provide technical leadership to other team members
• Break-down complex functionalities into granular tasks and stories
• Stay current on emerging technologies and be able to match them to Citco need when required

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Proven track record of architecting complex enterprise-level solutions and making key technical design decisions
• 8+ years of experience with software engineering
• 3+ years of experience developing server-side applications using Node.js frameworks such as or similar to NestJS/Hono
• 3+ years of experience with Java
• 3+ years of experience with React/Typescript
• Experience with AWS
• Experience deploying infrastructure to AWS
• Experience with serverless app deployment
• Experience with Docker
• Solid understanding of HTML5, ES6, CSS3, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks
• Experience with source code management such as GIT
• Proficient with relational databases (ideally Oracle or PostgreSQL)
• Experience working on Agile teams

Nice to Haves:

• Exposure to Kotlin, NoSQL is nice to have
• Solid understanding and demonstrated proficiency with core software development processes - debugging, code tuning, code management and branching, coding styles and refactoring
• Must be self-motivated and driven, with strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of financial industry, specially accounting / general ledger will be preferred.

• Salary Range: CAD $135,000 - $175,000
