*Contract to Perm*- Intermediate ServiceNow Analyst with Discovery Experience to support a Software Asset Management Team with one of our major banking clients-39725
Location: Toronto/ Hybrid (2 Days a Week on site)
Duration: 6 Months (Must be convert perm after)
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
FTE Salary Range: $98k with 10% Bonus Structure
Story Behind the Need
Business group: ITAM - Software Asset Management - about 14 team of analysts
Project: The IT Asset Management (ITAM) - Software Asset Management (SAM) organization is maturing platform and data capabilities. Historically focused on request/catalog management, the team now needs dedicated Discovery & Tech Enablement specialists to ensure source data ingestion, workflow enablement, and SAM platform health across ServiceNow (Discovery, CMDB, SAM Pro) and connected modules. These roles bridge Business Operations and Platform/Dev teams to translate requirements into reliable, automated workflows.
Typical Day in Role:
• Discovery & Data Feeds: Import software installations, monitor health of import feeds, and resolve ingestion/normalization issues.
• Workflow Enablement: Partner with SAM Tech Enablement/Platform teams to build & maintain request/approval workflows.
• Process-to-Tech Mapping: Translate SAM Business Operations & Procurement requirements into technical specs; support automation/integration build.
• Coverage Gaps: Collaborate with infra/app teams to identify and resolve discovery/coverage gaps.
• Model Hygiene: Clean up discovery models and validate mappings to SAM models.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve data issues across discovery/models/ServiceNow tables/agents; assist with software model matching.
• Audit Support: Support data validation for internal/license audits.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 3-5 years of experience as an analyst in technology
2) Experience with Service Now Discovery (how integrations populate CMDB, how data flows/normalizes, and how to triage/resolve breaks)
3) Experience troubleshooting complex data, models and integration issues
4) Experience working with large data sets (Excel, SQL, Service Now)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Experience working with Service Now, SAM, CMDB
2) Experience with data queries
Education:
Bachelor’s
ITIL certification an asset
Service Now certifications an asset
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Curious, proactive problem-solver who works independently with minimal hand-holding, thinks outside the box, researches solutions, and presents fact-based recommendations. Strong with large datasets even if not expert across all SN modules.
Candidate Review & Selection - Interview Process
2 rounds - In Person preferred - TBD (Tues Wed Thurs or Fri)
1st - with Senior Manager - 30 minutes - possible technical exercise / problem solving/ scenario based questions
2nd - with Director/VP - 30 minutes
