Description
*Contract to Perm* Intermediate ServiceNow Administrator to configure and Maintain SN SAM Pro tooling with one of our major banking clients- 39730
Location: Toronto or Scarborough/Hybrid (2 Days a Week on site)
Duration: 6 Months (Must be convert perm after)
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
FTE Salary Range: 95k with 10% bonus structure
Story Behind the Need
Business group: ITAM - Software Asset Management
Project: Within ITAM - SAM, these roles will administer ServiceNow SAM Pro and lead reporting & governance to ensure model integrity, normalization accuracy, and executive-ready reporting for risk, compliance, and operational decision-making.
Typical Day in Role:
• SAM Pro Administration: Configure & maintain SAM Pro and supporting tables.
• Normalization: Own/maintain normalization rules; drive health to target thresholds.
• Data Model: Establish/maintain SAM data model and connections to other SN modules.
• Model Creation: Build software models from Business Ops/EA requirements (entitlements, catalog inclusions, prohibited software).
• Mappings: Map discovery models to SAM models for downstream processes (e.g., Unauthorized, license reconciliation).
• Health Monitoring: Track completeness, duplicates, normalization health; reconcile discovery gaps with Tech Remediation & Ops Support.
• Reporting: Build/maintain reporting in Power BI and ServiceNow (incl. compliance & exec dashboards).
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 3-5 years of experience in system or technical administration
2) Strong data modeling skills in Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
3) Experience with software asset management tools - preferably ServiceNow SAM Pro.
Candidates with SAM Pro are ideal, but strong ServiceNow Administrators who are motivated to self‑learn SAM Pro as they progress will also be considered.
4) Experience building or maintaining reporting using Power BI and/or ServiceNow reporting.
5) Understanding of SAM processes (e.g., licensing, catalog, normalization workflows).
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Experience with SQL
2) Supporting audits (internal and license auditing) and compliance support and data governance workstreams
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
ServiceNow SAM, CSA, and ITIL are assets.
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Analytical, strong with normalization and data modeling, familiar with audit/compliance processes, and comfortable translating complex data into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.
While SAM Pro experience is preferred, we welcome strong ServiceNow Administrators who demonstrate the ability and motivation to upskill into SAM Pro as part of their growth in the role.
