Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
- Willingness to work as part of a team in the planning and delivery of a literacy and numeracy program
- Knowledge of and experience using effective strategies to support the direct instruction of literacy skills; i.e. The balanced literacy framework would be an asset
- Experience with the snap numeracy assessment in the delivery of a balanced numeracy program
- Knowledge of and demonstrated application of the components of a balanced mathematics program
- Proven classroom management, behavioural management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction based on individual student differences, strengths and needs
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of formative and summative assessments to plan for instruction
- Demonstrated willingness to work as part of a team in the planning within the RTI model
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in addressing the wide range of academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs of children
- Willingness to explore the concept of higher level thinking within collaborative inquiry structures
- Demonstrated ability using technology to enhance student engagement for a wide range of abilities
- Proven ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents
- Willingness to work in a school where collaboration, shared decision-making and shared leadership are part of the culture
- Proven ability as an effective team member, and a willingness to work collaboratively with staff, parents and administration (school based team model)
- Commitment to working with colleagues in an open, accepting manner in order to promote a strong and caring professional learning community
