Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

There will also be required in-service for the successful candidate to complete.

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
Please Note: As this is an itinerant position, the successful applicant must have a car and a valid BC driver's license.
- Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this
• Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching
practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional
Standards for BC Educators.
- certification or eligibility for certification, by the association of Canadian educators of the Hearing Impaired
- a valid BC professional teaching certificate (BCCT)
- proven ability to provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- proven ability to work cooperatively with school-based teams and other multi-disciplinary teams
- demonstrated to act as case manager for students with this designation
- proven ability to assist teachers with curriculum planning (short- and long-term goals, strategies, materials, assessment, reporting)
- proven ability to ensure that appropriate materials and equipment are available for students who are deaf and hard of hearing
- proven ability to maintain appropriate documentation for student categories
- excellent interpersonal skills
- demonstrated leadership and proven experience in adult learning with an emphasis on coaching and training at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels through the provision of current research-based support services, workshops, learning series, and professional development opportunities
- demonstrated ability to provide planning, consultation and support to teachers, parents, and school-based team members regarding students with special needs and inclusive education
- demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and professional learning in the area of inclusive education and adult learning
- proven commitment to student success within an inclusive education model
- knowledge of research and best practice in instructional strategies, programs and resources to meet the needs of a broad range of students with special needs
- an understanding of a systems approach to instruction and intervention (Example - RTI)
- must have a car and a valid B.C. driver's license
