We invite applications for the position of:
Plumber, Heating and Gas Fitter 'B'
The workload for this position is eight (8) hour per day, being forty (40) hours per week, twelve (12) months of the year and may include shift work. Pay Grade 11 - Job #1133 - $39.50/hour. Full-Time Plumbing, Heating, Gas Fitter 'B'
Position Summary: Install, repair and maintain plumbing, heating, gas and sprinkler systems. This position may be required to start work at various project locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plumbing & Heating Systems
- install, modify and maintain plumbing/heating systems and equipment, including furnaces, irrigation and sprinkler systems, air conditioners, etc. using a variety of equipment;
- perform routine maintenance;
- purchase supplies and materials;
- estimate material requirements;
- ensure WHMIS regulations are followed.
Maintenance
- perform general maintenance duties using a variety of trade skills.
Communication
- communicate with students, staff and others.
Applicants must have:
- completed Grade 12;
- B.C. or Interprovincial Journeyman Plumber Ticket;
- Class B Gas Ticket with Electrical Endorsement (EE);
- Cross Connection Control Certificate;
- demonstrated training and work experience in current BC construction/maintenance safety requirements and WCB Regulation relating to the trade and industry;
- B.C. Drivers License;
- completed the required Health & Safety training.
Applicant must be:
- able to work with minimum supervision;
- able to work alone and within a team environment;
- a self-starter.

- maintain excellent interpersonal skills;
- have good verbal and written communication skills;
The following would be considered an asset:
- two (2) years experience at a journeyman level in maintenance/construction practices and procedures in a commercial environment;
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate;
- Fall Protection Certificate/training;
- Confined Entry Certificate/training;
- exposure to refrigeration/electrical trades;
- First Aid Level 1 Certificate.
