Relevant du vice-président, mise en marché, matériaux de construction, le titulaire du poste est chargé de maximiser le pouvoir d’achat de RONA pour l’ensemble de ses unités canadiennes tout en contribuant au maintien des stratégies de ventes pour chacune de ses unités d’affaires. Le·la titulaire du poste négocie avec les différents fournisseurs pour la sélection de produits et participe à l'élaboration de plans stratégiques par catégorie de produits pour nos unités d’affaires.

Reporting to the Director, Negotiation and Vendor Strategy, the position holder is responsible for maximizing RONA’s purchasing power for all its Canadian units while contributing to the maintenance of sales strategies for each business unit. The incumbent negotiates with various suppliers directly to support product selection under the best possible conditions for RONA. They also participate in developing strategic plans by product category for our business units.

Your Role

  • Develop, communicate, and ensure the implementation of a strategic plan by product category to achieve organizational objectives based on the positioning of the business units.

  • Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers and maintain these relationships through official meetings and performance reviews.

  • Negotiate with suppliers directly or jointly with category managers to secure commercial agreements aligned with corporate strategies.

  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations.

  • Analyzes and identifies market trends and opportunities and stays abreast of the latest market developments to provide recommendations

  • Participate in negotiating cost prices with suppliers and ensure communication with the business units.

  • Monitor supplier performance, provide recommendations to the merchandising team, and help implement optimal solutions.

  • Determine, in collaboration with merchandising teams, the best strategy to conduct comprehensive negotiations with suppliers regarding programs, product line reviews, and new product launches.

  • Develop monthly and annual strategies with merchandising teams to reach new milestones in procurement cost reduction.

  • Establish, together with the merchandising teams, an annual review calendar for major product lines covering all volumes, and account for costs, purchases, reset costs, and other obligations.

  • Organizes supplier business reviews and invites relevant category managers as needed.

  • Communicates and manages our various product specifications and ensures that suppliers comply with them.

  • Manages the opening and closing of vendor accounts.

The qualifications we're looking for:

  • University degree in Business Administration or any other relevant field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Six to eight years of experience in one or more of the following areas: procurement, purchasing, merchandising, brand management, or related fields.

  • Ability to conduct complex negotiations with various business partners

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must demonstrate a strong ability to communicate clearly and persuasively and resolve disagreements constructively to ensure the success of negotiations.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;

  • Very good knowledge of the MS Office suite, including advanced knowledge of Excel
