Reporting to the Director, Credit, the Manager, Credit - Ontario & ROC Region will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the application of credit policies and ensuring timely collection of all accounts, as well as implementing efficient credit and collection programs and procedures for all retail clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage teams and individuals responsible for approving credit limits for new and existing customers based on financial analysis and credit worthiness.

  • Set clear goals and objectives and monitor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Provide professional development opportunities for team members.

  • Manage the entire accounts receivable and collections process, including reconciling customer accounts.

  • Establish credit procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth credit and collections processes.

  • Formulate and execute effective collection procedures to reduce outstanding balances and enhance team efficiency.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.

  • Review aging reports and proactively manage delinquent accounts.

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquency rates and improve cash flow.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve customer disputes and payment issues. Work in partnership with legal department and external firms to resolve more complex litigation cases.

  • Address and resolve customer disputes and issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Monitor credit and collections dashboards and report performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in credit and collections, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Or an equivalent combination of Education and experience.

  • Excellent communication skills; fluent French and English, given the national nature of the responsibilities and duties of this role.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

  • Expertise in financial software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Experience with collection software.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

  • Preferred experience in the retail industry.

  • Curious and problem-solving mindset, with a passion for identifying and implementing process improvements.

  • A team player, exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Hands-on, prioritize tasks, eager to take up challenges and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
