Reporting to the Manager, Asset Protection - Process and Strategy, the Manager, Supply Chain Asset Protection is responsible for fostering, supporting, and leading an Asset Protection culture that emphasizes commitment over compliance. The role requires a customer service approach, effectively utilizing data and analytics to inform strategies and decision-making.

The Advisor, Supply Chain Asset Protection ensures that RONA proactively addresses process or policy opportunities that may contribute to inventory loss and physical security risks within the supply chain and distribution network. This position involves close coordination with direct reports as well as leaders from various departments and business units.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute strategies to safeguard company assets at all supply chain and distribution locations. This includes installing and maintaining surveillance systems, controlling access points, and regularly assessing vulnerabilities to ensure the safety and integrity of company property.

  • Develop, update, and manage comprehensive records for each facility, documenting their security level and the specifications of installed security systems. Ensure all access control procedures are up to date and regularly audited for compliance and effectiveness.

  • Evaluate current policies and procedures to identify gaps or areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to revise guidelines, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct training sessions and provide educational resources to staff at distribution centers and other supply chain facilities. Focus on identifying and addressing key factors that contribute to inventory shrinkage and promote a culture of safety and asset protection.

  • Utilize data analytics to monitor and investigate patterns of inventory loss across the supply chain. Develop and implement targeted solutions to mitigate identified risks, and work closely with operations teams to ensure corrective actions are followed.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for field personnel regarding inventory discrepancies or shrinkage incidents. Lead investigations, validate findings, and communicate results with management, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspected theft or breaches of integrity, collaborating with law enforcement and internal teams as necessary. Document findings and recommend disciplinary actions or process improvements.

  • Perform regular audits of supply chain facilities to assess compliance with security and asset protection standards. Prepare detailed reports for management and ensure any identified exceptions are addressed and resolved promptly.

  • Oversee the activities and performance of contracted security personnel at distribution centers and warehouses. Ensure guards adhere to company protocols and deliver consistent, high-quality service.

  • Develop and facilitate training programs for employees and contractors, focusing on asset protection, physical security, and best practices for minimizing losses.

  • Assist with the implementation of health and safety initiatives, ensuring hazards are identified and controlled. Participate in incident investigations, document findings, and help develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Oversee life safety protocols related to hazardous materials handling and fire prevention. Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, conduct regular drills, and maintain up-to-date documentation.

  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the asset protection function and ensure the effective operation of supply chain security programs.

Qualifications Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in policing, security, asset protection, supply chain, distribution management, or relevant studies

  • 3-5 years’ leadership experience in distribution, preferably retail

    Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Provincial security licenses required

  • 2-5 years’ experience with Genetec Security
