Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?We are looking for an experienced SRE Lead, to manage our DevOps and ETSS production services and lead efficiency, reliability and automation initiativesThis role would manage a Halifax/Toronto/NJ team to deliver DevOps, Compute and other emerging technology services for application teams across Capital Markets.The role requires an open minded individual who is not afraid to fail fast and pivot when needed. An individual who seeks out gaps and challenges to drive efficiency not only for other application teams but also for their own team. Knowledge sharing is key in this respect.As a Senior Lead, you will participate in transforming DevOps for Capital Markets.This role will work close with client application development teams and partner DevOps, Compute, Data engineering teams, within Capital Markets and across the broader Enterprise.What will you do? Manage Compute (Kubernetes), Elastic and other emerging technology production services; manage the Production DevOps servicesDrive alignment with, and improvement of, broader Enterprise servicesManage a team of 8 SRE; apply SRE techniques to DevOps and Compute Services; demonstrate SRE as a concept for broader Capital MarketsLead hands-on automation and elimination of manual toil; track Production and SRE KPIsBe a senior stakeholder in Capital Markets DevOps and Compute roadmap developmentCoach application teams on how to leverage DevOps offerings and help drive productivity gainsChampion developer-experience and development best practice; partner on or lead new tool adoption. Recommend improvements to processEvolve DevOps services beyond current state for application teams; become part of the DevOps management teamWhat do you need to succeed?Must-have5+ years hands-on Experience in Kubernetes along with 5+ years hands-on experience with DevOps CICD tools e.g. GitHub Jenkins, Ansible, Urban Code Deploy, including strong knowledge with GitHub7+ years technical leadership, either directly or indirectly leading a teamHands-on Experience with Agile methodologies, e.g. Scrum, Kanban;An engineer mindset and experience with production class delivery; adopt a SRE approachStrong analytical mindset and good communication skills; strong sense of ownership/driveNice to haveExperience with Elastic Search and KibanaExperience with a public cloud technology, i.e. Azure, AWSExperience building or supporting distributed applicationsExperience leading a teamWhats in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
