Job description

Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, the incumbent performs various technical and administrative tasks related to employee compensation and benefits. He/she ensures compliance with the various laws in force, as well as with internal policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent acts as a resource person for employees, managers and various stakeholders in Canada and the United States, answering questions on payroll and benefits. Fluency in English is therefore essential to fulfill the various mandates of the position.

Remuneration component

  • Prepare and verify payrolls for all employees (325) of group companies, located across Canada and the United States;
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws, tax standards and internal policies;
  • Reconcile payment of government rebates;
  • Balance and prepare year-end reports related to the payroll process (annual tax slips and government summaries);
  • Collaborate on internal and external payroll audits;
  • Ensure that payroll data is archived securely and in compliance with current regulations;
  • Prepare payroll reports and other documents to support financial management and decision-making.

Social benefits component

  • Manage deductions and taxable benefits, including group insurance, RRSPs, DPSPs, automobile benefits;
  • Monitor employee RRSP and employer DPSP remittances;
  • Review and approve monthly group insurance invoices. Manage and correct discrepancies;
  • Monitor additions and deletions of telemedicine participants. Review and approve monthly invoices.

Training required

  • DEC in accounting, administration or other related field;
  • PPQ (asset)

Desired profile

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Proficiency in payroll management tools (specialized software such as ADP);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Bilingualism - French, English.
