Senior Document Controller

Location: Saskatoon, SK
Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time

Role & Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate access and permission rights within the Document Management System (DMS) for internal project teams and external engineering, construction, and vendor partners.

  • Support Engineering teams with the control, review, and stamping of P&C drawings, mining packages, and heavy industrial technical documentation.

  • Monitor, review, and manage supplier, OEM, and contractor documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

  • Deliver training and guidance on Document Management Systems and document control procedures to internal teams and external contractors.

  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to establish document control strategies, workflows, naming conventions, and governance from project initiation.

  • Administer project records, drawings, and documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and project-specific requirements.

  • Establish, maintain, and manage project drawing and document registers for complex industrial and infrastructure projects.

  • Prepare, issue, track, and manage document transmittals between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operations teams.

  • Coordinate the compilation of Final Project Files in collaboration with Construction, Engineering, and Drawing Office teams.

  • Manage and deliver complete, audit-ready final project archives, including turnover documentation for operations and maintenance.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive Document Control experience, preferably on large-scale industrial, mining, potash, bulk materials, or port infrastructure projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of formal Document Management Systems and document control governance in heavy industrial environments.

  • Proficiency with Aconex Construction Project Management Software.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting engineering-driven projects, including stamped drawings, vendor data, and construction documentation.

  • Strong ability to interpret, organize, and present complex technical information in a clear, logical, and structured manner.

  • Excellent IT and administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and recognized document management or database systems.

  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and document control best practices.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
