Workplaces: Clarence Creek, Rockland and Russell
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Hourly rate: $26.92

The Building Mechanic/Custodian is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the indoor and outdoor apartment buildings and semi-detached located in Clarence Creek, Rockland et Russell. He will ensure that the buildings assigned are in good condition, healthy, safe and ready for occupation.

Requested skills

Requirements:

• High school diploma;
• Diploma or post-secondary certificate (one school year) in a related field such as building maintenance, construction, millwright, plumbing, ventilation heating and air conditioning (HVAC) or equivalent experience;
• Must have two years of experience in building construction and/or renovation;
• Ability to communicate easily in French and English (oral and written);
• Have knowledge and understanding of WHMIS;
• Be able to identify the products used and maintain material safety data sheets on site;
• Ability to interpret instructions, laws, codes, regulations and construction plans.

A criminal record check must be provided upon hiring only (dated no longer than three months prior to the date when it has been requested) and is a condition of employment.
