The incumbent is responsible for the daily operation of the facility, the organization of the programs and resources so as to assure the management of the facility and each of its programs and services, in accordance with the acts, regulations, policies and guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and of the Prescott and Russell Residence.

Requested skills

  • Post-secondary Diploma in Health Services Administration or a related field and/or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of two years experience in managing a long term care facility;
  • Through knowledge of Gerontology;
  • Through knowledge of Long-Term Care Facilities and Nursing Homes Act;
  • Knowledge of the Workplace Safety Insurance Board regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Human Rights Act;
  • Ability to analyze and plan in order to implement programs, identify and solve problems, and formulate policies and procedures related to the programs;
  • Ability to communicate easily in French and English   (verbally and in writing);
  • Knowledge of municipal budgetary practices and procedures;
  • Good administrative and management skills for planning, managing, supervising and coordinating the functions of the department involving professionals, regulated staff and specialized labour.
