The Building Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and proper functioning of the site’s infrastructure and equipment. They oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems to ensure uninterrupted operations in a controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and service electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot automated and software-controlled systems.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance according to predefined maintenance schedules.
- Install, modify, and repair production equipment and building infrastructure.
- Conduct repairs to maximize equipment reliability and durability.
- Possess knowledge of plumbing, mechanics, and electricity (an asset).
- Troubleshoot various equipment essential to facility operations.
- Follow established procedures and best practices, and be able to read and interpret technical plans and instructions.
- Perform daily machinery inspections, establish a maintenance plan, and coordinate with external maintenance teams.
- Use the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document maintenance activities and track work history.
- Manage the inventory of necessary parts for maintenance operations and place orders based on needs.
- Collaborate with other team members and, when required, lead a team to ensure optimal efficiency.
