Vista Virtual School
(VVS)
requires a regular Full Time Finance Support I at the Calgary campus as soon as possible.Using a multi-modal approach with
both print and online delivery, Vista Virtual School has a history of providing
quality distance education to students of Alberta in Grades 1-12. Visit the

The successful candidates will
ensure Vista Virtual School’s financial situation is accurately represented and protected by accurate recording of accounting transactions, attention to detail, understanding of workflow and business processes, and in-depth knowledge of accounting software.
This position
requires a high level of organization and the ability to switch from
task-to-task as the need requires, yet ensuring that all tasks are completed in
a timely fashion. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
The hours for this position will be 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Understanding of the Accounting Cycle and standard accounting practices
- Perform purchasing functions including authorizations
- Process payments as required
- Assist with financial projects as required
- Post secondary education in Finance/Accounting or two years equivalent experience
- Self-motivated
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effectively able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality in and outside of the school
- Maintain advanced computer and technology skills
- Access programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat, Rycor, PASI
- Understanding of SIS processes as it relates to the financial transactions is an asset
- Accurate data entry and attention to detail
- Be a team player with all staff members
- Be flexible in managing multiple tasks
- Be able to work in an environment with interruptions
- Have strong communication skills - writing, proofreading and editing
- Be able to work independently with limited supervision
