Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer for our Toronto Office, who will be providing engineering services for multiple clients and will perform bridge design structural analysis, plan preparation, contract document development, bridge inspections and providing engineering services during construction.

Our bridge engineers deliver technical solutions and detailed designs through construction for medium to large and complex bridge projects in Toronto metropolitan area and across the globe. We support structural design projects for bridges, tunnels, airports, and rail/transit programs. We have proficiency in all bridge designs, including long-span bridges, segmental bridges, cable-stayed bridges, movable bridges, suspension bridges, and conventional bridges. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform a variety of design and analysis duties for structural projects, including bridge rehabilitations and replacements, rail/transit structures, tolling gantries, tunnel structures, and structures for airport facilities.
    • Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
    • Prepare standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and geometric designs.
    • Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to implement project designs.
    • Review small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assist in performing quantity calculations for bid analyses.
    • Develop engineering products that meet customer quality requirements under close supervision, utilizing engineering theories and practices.
    • For design/build projects, develop construction-related plans and documents and perform fieldwork as needed.
    • Provide support for other engineering activities as required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or a related field) and typically 8+ years of related work experience. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License may be required
  • Familiarity with bridge design software CAE and CAD software such as - MicroStation or AutoCAD.

  • What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • Familiarity with 3D Finite Element software- such as CSI Bridge, LARSA 4D.
  • Experience with steel and concrete bridge design.
  • Experience with Suspension Bridge Analysis, Design.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and/or US Bridge Design Codes.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $135,000
