Norda Stelo is seeking an Intermediate / Senior Structural Engineer to join our Vancouver office and support industrial and heavy industrial projects across the Lower Mainland and Western Canada.

This role is intended for an experienced structural engineer who can contribute technically to the design and assessment of industrial structures, provide technical leadership to project teams, and independently manage small to intermediate-size projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Vancouver-based engineering team and multidisciplinary project groups, supporting clients through design, site investigations, construction, modifications, and operational phases.


Our expertise is diversifying, how about you?

· Lead and perform structural design and analysis of industrial steel and concrete structures

· Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and designers on assigned projects

· Manage small to intermediate-size structural engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, coordination, and deliverables

· Perform site visits, field inspections, condition assessments, and investigations for industrial facilities and structures

· Review existing structures and develop practical recommendations for repairs, modifications, strengthening, or upgrades

· Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams

· Support constructability reviews and construction support activities

· Review structural calculations, drawings, technical reports, and engineering documentation

· Participate in project coordination meetings and technical discussions with clients

· Mentor and support junior engineers and designers

· Support proposals, project planning, and business development activities

· Maintain strong client relationships and act as a reliable technical point of contact

Our essentials
  • · Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

    · Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.

    · Approximately 6+ years of relevant structural engineering experience, with greater experience preferred for the senior level

    · Strong experience in industrial or heavy industrial structural design

    · Demonstrated experience with structural steel and reinforced concrete design

    · Experience leading technical work and coordinating engineering teams

    · Experience managing small to intermediate-size engineering projects

    · Strong site inspection, field engineering, and construction support experience

    · Good understanding of Canadian codes and standards, including NBCC Part 4, CSA S16, and CSA A23.3

    · Experience with seismic design.

    · Familiarity with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, or similar software

    · Strong communication, coordination, and client-facing skills

    · Ability to work independently, exercise sound engineering judgment, and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary and remote teams
