Newmont North America operations are located in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec with roles in operations, projects, and exploration. Regional Support is provided from our office in Vancouver.

As the Specialist, Talent & Leadership Development for the Americas, you will support the growth of leaders across the region by implementing programs that strengthen capability, improve bench strength, and enhance overall performance. In alignment with global talent management, you will implement and improve talent management, leadership development, and IDE strategies for the business unit to improve individual leadership capability, organizational bench strength, employee engagement, and business performance.
• Implement leadership development programs for L3/L2/L1 roles across the Americas and support continuous improvement through facilitation and feedback.
• Coordinate and execute talent assessment and succession planning processes for the region, ensuring consistent application and high-quality outcomes.
• Lead and support performance management and calibration activities, helping leaders apply global standards effectively.
• Coordinate and deliver IDE programs and Business Resource Group initiatives across the Americas.
• Apply IDE principles within talent and leadership programs to strengthen inclusion and representation.
• Support early career and apprenticeship programs within the region where applicable.
• Develop onboarding plans for new hires at Level of Work 2 and above.
• Partner closely with HR, Talent, and site leadership teams to ensure regional alignment and support continuous improvement.
• Monitor program effectiveness, assess development metrics, and recommend enhancements based on insights and best practices.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and communications for senior stakeholders.
• Experience in leadership development, talent management, organizational learning, or a related field, ideally across multiple regions or business units.
• Knowledge of performance management, talent assessment, succession planning, career frameworks, and employee development processes.
• Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to deliver engaging learning experiences for leaders.
• Ability to analyze talent and learning data to assess program impact and recommend improvements.
• Strong understanding of IDE principles and experience integrating them into leadership and talent programs.
• Proficiency with talent management and learning systems, change management practices, project coordination, and computer systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• High levels of self-awareness, adaptability, and the ability to influence across teams and cultures.
• Formal education in Organization Development, Human Resources, or a related field is an asset.
• Working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors or other performance management tools is an asset.
This position is based at Newmont’s Vancouver head office and works Monday to Friday during regular business hours. Candidates must reside in the Greater Vancouver Regional District and be able to commute to the office multiple times per day. Monthly travel to our two Canadian operations (Brucejack Mine and Red Chris Mine) is also required.
The Brucejack Operations team is now recruiting for the position of Specialist, Talent & Leadership Development, Americas with a competitive base salary between $110,925 - $147,900, with an additional short-term incentive of 25%. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity. The expected salary range for this role is CAD $ 110,925-147,900. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
