About Red Chris
Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Your impact
You’ll lead the operational transition of Red Chris Mine from surface to underground, helping shape how the site prepares for the block cave future. Your work will ensure operations, maintenance, and readiness plans come together to support safe, reliable, and efficient long-term production.
As part of our team you will
- Lead operational transition planning across processing, infrastructure, services, and site readiness
- Partner closely with project and business readiness teams to integrate operational needs
- Align functional leaders on scope, schedule, and delivery of transition activities
- Identify risks and opportunities and drive practical solutions
- Track progress, costs, and readiness milestones to support a smooth transition
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Engineering, Mining, or a related technical discipline is preferred
- Significant experience in mining operations and/or maintenance, ideally across large-scale or complex sites
- Project management experience, preferably within major operational transitions or capital projects
- Experience supervising technical or cross-functional teams, including contractors or consultants
- Remote or site-based work experience is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of operational lifecycle costs, budgeting, and cost control
- Ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, projects, and regional stakeholders
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to safety, operational discipline, and compliance with site and corporate standards
Your work environment
This is a site-based leadership role at Red Chris working on a rotation, working closely with operations, project teams, and functional leaders during a major operational transition. The role involves collaboration across disciplines in a dynamic, fast-paced mine-site environment.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$175,600 - 263,340 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
