Purpose

We are seeking a motivated Engineer to join our Sustaining Capital Projects team at Red Chris Mine. In this role, you will support the safe, responsible, and efficient execution of new infrastructure built onsite. You will gain valuable experience in construction execution, contractor management, design optimization, and planning within a team of project delivery professionals.

Essential Duties
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and presentations to support internal reviews and regulatory submissions.
  • Oversee procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover of a multitude of projects spanning our Tailings, Mill, Pit, Camp, and maintenance infrastructure.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide fieldwork activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of site visits, work performed, project status, and project risks.
  • Identify and resolve issues on-site, escalating complex problems to appropriate engineering teams. Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses before commencing site activities.
  • Manage daily reporting and communication with department teams and mine management.
Training & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Geological, or Mining Engineering.
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as a P.eng with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in mining, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering (co-op experience considered an asset). Strong interest in construction execution and exposure to interdisciplinary projects from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with project delivery methods (scheduling, earned value progress, lean project delivery).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work at a remote mine site on a rotational basis.

The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
