Accountabilities - Able to aide with installing HDPE pipe and required labor work to do so in all pipe installing requirements.
- Strong commitment and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
- Safe and responsible management of all aspects of tailings operations, maintenance, and surveillance.
- Construction and maintenance required for all tailings dam construction activities.
- Understand overall requirements for timing of construction activities in order to meet operational requirements.
- Working closely with the on-site dam construction team.
- Working closely with other departments to coordinate activities.
- Assist in the conduction of inspections of all dams and related infrastructure according to the current guidelines using defined checklists.
- Assist in dewatering activities within the tailings impound area.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of all field activities related to cyclone sand dam construction and pipe grade installation.
- Able to perform other duties as requested by the tailings dam management team.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience as dozer/excavator/skid steer using D8CAT/D85 KOMATSU/336CAT equivalents, operating in mining or heavy civil earthworks construction
- Two years demonstrated previous experience working with hydraulic sand placement methodology, operating cyclones and completing pipe work
- Able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements
- A team player that works well with others
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is preferred

The expected salary range for this role is CA$50.82 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
