Purpose

The Electrical Advisor - Reliability plays a key role in optimizing electrical asset performance across the fixed plant at Red Chris Mine. This role focuses on improving electrical system reliability, ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards, and minimizing unplanned downtime through structured maintenance practices, condition monitoring, and failure analysis.

Essential Duties

• Promote safety and compliance with relevant codes (e.g., CEC, CSA, OHS Regulations).
• Provide subject matter expertise in the area of Fixed Plant mining equipment and maintenance.
• Develop maintenance tactics for electrical distribution systems, MCCs, instrumentation, and critical control systems.
• Support Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs) and implement corrective/preventative actions to prevent recurrence of failures.
• Validate and maintain procedures and work instructions (STPs).
• Work closely with E&I Technicians and Supervisors to validate maintenance plans and ensure alignment with field practices.
• Maintain accurate bill of materials and maintenance documentation in SAP.
• Identify critical spares and assess electrical systems for performance constraints and risk factors.
• Support reliability projects and interact with vendors to achieve project goals.
• Contribute to reliability KPIs, including MTBF, bad actor tracking, and asset availability.
• Provide coverage for other Reliability roles.

Training & Experience

• Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician or Instrumentation Technician.
• Additional qualifications or technical accreditation would be considered an advantage.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, CSA/CEC codes, and industrial automation.
• Excellent technical research skills (interpreting electrical drawings, OEM manuals, etc.) coupled with English language technical writing proficiency and document development skills.
• 5+ years of experience in E&I maintenance or reliability roles in industrial or mining environments.
• Proficient with MS Windows and Office products.
• Proven track-record of improving plant up-time through comprehensive root-cause analysis and maintenance problem elimination.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$83,400-$111,180 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
