East/West Regions
Effective Immediately
Location: East /West Regions : Parry Sounds, Sundridge and Surrounding Areas
Qualifications:
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent
Current Ontario Plumbers License
Valid Class G Driver's License with access to own reliable vehicle
Clear, Current Driver's Abstract
WHIMIS certification
Knowledge of essential building codes, governing provincial regulations and occupational health and safety regulations
Current G2 Gas Fitter Certificate considered an asset
OWWA Cross Connection Control Specialist Certification considered an asset
Working from Heights Certificate considered an asset
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Install, replace, update and maintain all NNDSB plumbing and related components including but not limited to: fixtures, piping and connections for washrooms, classrooms, kitchens, special function rooms, septic and waster systems, municipal and well water supply systems and components, storm water and drainage systems
Install, replace, update and maintain components of hydronic heating systems such as valves, switches, pumps, piping and related components, wiring of pumps/switchers from disconnects
Work with and assist other Maintenance Staff and Contractors as directed by the Supervisor
Install, replace, update and maintain compressed air systems and components, laboratory gas piping, valves and controls
Act as an NNDSB contact for external Contractors and review work of Contractors when directed by the Supervisor
Responsible for cost estimate, inventor and ordering of parts and equipment as directed by the Supervisor
Maintain equipment, tools vehicle and workplace in a sage and clean operating condition
Respond to emergency situations outside regular working hours
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude on the job
Proven problem solving skills and ability the read and interpret blueprints, schematics and specifications as well as perform cost estimations
Working knowledge of general construction and maintenance processes
Highly motivated with proven experience working independently and as a member in a team environment
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
General knowledge of basic computer applications
Ability to work from plans, drawings and through verbal instruction
Ability and willingness to perform the physical demands of the job (i.e. climbing and working at various heights, lifting heavy loads, working in temperature extremes etc.)
Rate of Pay: $29.11 to $30.49 per hour
Hours of Employment : 7:30am to 4:00 pm (must be flexible)
