A career as a Senior Financial Planner within the Financial Planning Team at National Bank Financial (NBF) means acting as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth clients and Investment Advisors by developing comprehensive financial plans tailored to their unique needs. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact on our organization through your deep expertise in financial planning, taxation, retirement, and wealth transfer strategies.
Your role
- Conduct client interviews, build long-term trusted relationships, and prepare comprehensive financial plans for complex situations.
- Support Investment Advisors by providing advanced expertise in financial planning, taxation, and estate planning.
- Serve as a key subject matter expert within one of Canada’s leading wealth management firms.
- Manage multiple complex client files simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Develop and deliver financial planning training sessions for Investment Advisors.
- Identify business development opportunities, promote National Bank Financial’s services, and contribute to practical solutions that address client and business needs.
Your team
Within the Advanced Financial Planning, Taxation, and Estate Planning sector, you will collaborate closely with financial planners, estate planning specialists, and tax advisors to support Investment Advisors and their clients across all areas of financial planning.
Based in the Greater Montreal area, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to serving high-net-worth clients. Our team distinguishes itself through its advanced expertise in financial planning, taxation, and estate strategies, as well as its collaborative approach with numerous internal and external stakeholders. The role requires travel to National Bank Financial offices throughout the Greater Montreal region.

Prerequisites
- University degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, along with 15 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of financial planning concepts, including personal and corporate taxation, retirement planning, and pension arrangements.
- Significant experience in an advisory or consulting expert role supporting clients or professionals.
- Availability to travel to National Bank Financial offices across the Greater Montreal area.
- Qualification from the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF), advanced tax expertise (including the CICA In-Depth Tax Course), or an equivalent combination of experience and credentials.
- Knowledge of insurance strategies, wealth management, and/or membership with FP Canada would be considered strong assets.
