Description
As a Senior Advisor in the Credit Quality and Governance team at National Bank, you’ll be acting as a retail credit expert by carrying out analyses and concrete recommendations in order to improve quality and support the decision-making. With your analytical skills, your experience in continuous improvement and your knowledge of retail credit, you’ll have a positive impact on the credit risk management.
Your role:
- Validate that the Bank’s risk appetite and credit standards for retail financing are respected (mainly residential financing).
- Identify the key risks of the retail credit files regarding credit analysis and submission.
- Analyze data following quality assurance validations and present key findings and trends.
- Make concrete recommendations to improve the quality of retail credit files, evolve risk management and support your partners in their decision making.
- Act as an expert for your partners by offering them support related to the interpretation of credit standards.
- Make credit standards evolve based on the economic context, appetite framework and regulatory environment.
- Participate in meetings and committees to share your findings and influence your partners to take ownership of their risk management.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and take action.
Your team:
As part of the Credit Quality and Governance sector, you’ll be in a team of 35 colleagues, and you’ll report to the Credit Quality and Governance Director. Our team stands out for its expertise in retail and SME credit, its motivation, its autonomy and its open-mindedness.

Prerequisites:
- University degree related to the industry and 5 years of relevant experience, or any combination of training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Experience in retail credit and knowledge of the mortgage broker environment.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a rigorous approach to solving complex problems.
- Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to innovate and influence.
- Agility, proactivity and excellent ability to articulate and draught complex concepts clearly and persuasively at all management levels, in English and French.
