A career as a Senior Advisor in risk Governance in the Technology and Cybersecurity risk Management team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in technology, cyber and data risk governance. This position allows you to have a concrete impact on the strength and resilience of the organisation thanks to your expertise in governance, risk management and regulatory environment. You will evolve in a strategic role where your judgement, analytical skills and organisational skills contribute directly to the continuous improvement of risk management practises across the Bank.
Your job
  • Ensure that it, cyber and data risk management policies, standards, processes and methods are updated and developed in keeping with the operational risk strategy.
  • Define, deploy and support risk management training and awareness programs for the organisation's stakeholders.
  • Monitor technology, cyber and data risks and ensure internal controls are aligned with regulatory authorities’ requirements and applicable guidelines.
  • Produce and develop performance indicators, dashboards, trend analyses and reporting related to risk governance.
  • Analyze major technological and cyber incidents, including the root causes, impacts and quality of analyses, and ensure rigourous follow-up of post-incident action plans.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on technology, cyber and data risk governance, including the assessment of exemption requests and reporting to the relevant committees.

Prerequisites
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least eight years of relevant experience, or a relevant master’s degree with at least seven years of experience in technology, cyber and/or data risk management.
  • Solid experience in technology risk governance, cybersecurity and/or data in complex and regulated environments.
  • Very good knowledge of the requirements of regulatory authorities, including the Office of the Superintendent of Financial institutions, the Autorité des marchés financiers du Québec, the British Columbia Financial Services Authority, and other regulators depending on the scope covered.
  • Master the main guidelines governing technology, cyber, third-party and operational risks, including guidelines B 13, B 10, E 21 and A 1 of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial institutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of recognised cybersecurity and technology governance repositories and standards, such as the Cybersecurity Framework of the National Institute of standards and Technology, ISO 27001 version 2022, CIS Controls version 8 and COBIT 2019.
  • Solid understanding of audit processes and procedures, including regulatory and methodological requirements, and ability to contribute effectively to audit work.
  • Relevant experience in the financial sector.
