Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Mechanic – Rolling Vehicles and Ski Lifts plays a key role in the safety, reliability and performance of Mont Cascades' equipment. He is responsible for the preventive maintenance, inspection, diagnosis and repairs of ski lifts, rolling vehicles and fixed mechanical equipment, in accordance with the current norms and the internal standards of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of ski lifts, rolling vehicles and stationary mechanical equipment.
  • Perform daily, periodic and seasonal inspections required before and during periods of operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical or hydraulic failures and make necessary repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g. technical standards, health and safety, internal procedures).
  • Rigorously complete the required inspection, maintenance and repair records.
  • Intervene in emergency situations or equipment breakdowns to ensure the safety of employees and customers.
  • Work closely with the operations, mountain and maintenance teams.
  • Report any anomaly, risk situation or major defect to your immediate supervisor.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance and safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment that complies with Mont Cascades' standards.

Requested skills

  • DEP in fixed mechanics, ski lift mechanics or other related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in mechanics, electromechanics or electricity (strong asset).
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
  • Any safety training related to the position is considered an asset.
  • Ability to read, complete and maintain inspection records and reports
  • Good judgment, sense of priorities and ability to work under pressure.
