- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop financial business plans and provide proactive insights to guide decision-making.
- Actively support the annual budget process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Track and explain financial variances on an ongoing basis, providing clear communication back to business partners.
- Support Marketing with P&L analysis for new product launches.
- Deliver regular forecasts by category, customer, and region, highlighting risks and opportunities versus plan and prior year.
- Provide financial support for key commercial meetings, including monthly performance reviews, demand reviews, and brand/customer planning sessions.
- Prepare and issue weekly/monthly reporting packages with analysis and recommended actions.
- Develop deep knowledge of pricing, costs, trade spend, and customer/product mix to maximize gross profit.
- Analyze key drivers of performance (volume, rate, mix, plant variances, trade spend, etc.) and clearly communicate their impact on results.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to uncover opportunities, improve performance, and create shareholder value.
- Champion process improvements and reporting efficiencies to streamline workflows and enhance decision-making.
- Post-secondary education in a finance or business related program
- Completion (or near completion) of professional accounting designation program is an asset
- 5 years of value add analytical experience (previous experience supporting sales and marketing a must)
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, extract meaningful insights, and help drive fact-based business decisions
- Must have excellent analysis skills and be a detail-oriented person
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in the CPG industry or non-CPG manufacturing environment
- Contextual knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP BPC
