Finance Manager – Retail Fresh Poultry

The Opportunity: The Finance Manager, Fresh Poultry will partner with the Poultry Leadership team to support with ad hoc requests and analysis that provide key insights to support fact-based decision making. This position also plays a key role in the budget process and is involved in various aspects throughout the entire cycle. The position requires a highly motivated individual to provide top quality, value added analysis and insight. The successful candidate must have exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills, and have experience supporting commercial teams. It will be the responsibility of the Finance Manager to support with all the necessary analysis and business acumen required to make the optimal business decision.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop financial business plans and provide proactive insights to guide decision-making.
• Actively support the annual budget process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Track and explain financial variances on an ongoing basis, providing clear communication back to business partners.
• Support Marketing with P&L analysis for new product launches.

Forecasting & Performance Management

• Deliver regular forecasts by category, customer, and region, highlighting risks and opportunities versus plan and prior year.
• Provide financial support for key commercial meetings, including monthly performance reviews, demand reviews, and brand/customer planning sessions.
• Prepare and issue weekly/monthly reporting packages with analysis and recommended actions.

P&L Management & Insights

• Develop deep knowledge of pricing, costs, trade spend, and customer/product mix to maximize gross profit.
• Analyze key drivers of performance (volume, rate, mix, plant variances, trade spend, etc.) and clearly communicate their impact on results.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to uncover opportunities, improve performance, and create shareholder value.
• Champion process improvements and reporting efficiencies to streamline workflows and enhance decision-making.

Your approach is collaborative, and you see people as the most important asset of any company and treat them accordingly. Required skills, knowledge, and attributes:

• Post-secondary education in a finance or business related program
• Completion (or near completion) of professional accounting designation program is an asset
• 5 years of value add analytical experience (previous experience supporting sales and marketing a must)
• Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, extract meaningful insights, and help drive fact-based business decisions
• Must have excellent analysis skills and be a detail-oriented person
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Desirable skills, knowledge, and attributes:

• Experience in the CPG industry or non-CPG manufacturing environment
• Contextual knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP BPC
