Under the responsibility of the Maintenance Manager, the position holder applies and maintains the preventive maintenance program; sets up, maintains and controls a tools and repair parts store. As part of his duties, has to use a preventive maintenance system to generate, register and modify work orders. In addition, he manages Contractors for preventive and corrective maintenance

Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:

  • Generates and prints the corrective and preventive maintenance work orders via a computerized system and hands them over to the maintenance team, internal and contractual
  • Plans, in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, the work schedule
  • Maintains and improves the preventive and preventive maintenance program by reviewing it on an ongoing basis in order to develop any new initiatives or take preventive measures
  • Constantly monitors work orders, work in progress and proposes corrective measures, if required
  • Updates and maintains an inventory system for all equipment
  • Supports the department and the people involved in the realization of special requests
  • Coordinates the calibrations of production equipment
  • Ensures the repair and maintenance of plant equipment parts in an appropriate state to ensure their efficiency, in safe conditions, while eliminating dangerous and inappropriate equipment
  • Prepares, plans and supervises the projects entrusted to him
  • Accompanies and ensures that external service providers / contractors comply with safety policies and standards while on company sites
  • Supports and facilitates the mission of the maintenance department and quickly provides efficient and quality services to our internal customers
  • Issues purchase requisitions for parts, supplies and tools, ensuring that the best quality/price/deadline ratio is always obtained
  • Ensures the follow-up of its orders with the suppliers and immediately informs the internal requesters of any change in relation to the delivery conditions
  • Provides the parts and supplies required to maintain a permanent inventory for the immediate needs of the plant. Delivers parts and supplies on request, during a specific job
  • Presents its supply requests and answers questions from all stakeholders
  • Acts as a liaison with suppliers to obtain accurate estimates and good prices before ordering parts, tools, equipment and services
  • Files and maintains an inventory system of said tool store
  • Builds and interprets basic reports and business correspondence
  • Meets with external service providers by his initiative or at the request of the Maintenance Manager
  • Continuous follow-up of expenses and prepares weekly expense reports, informs the Maintenance Manager of all expenses to assure the respect of the budget
  • Respects at all times Mapei’s buying procedures and policies
  • Any other related task

  • Education: HSD
  • Good understanding of the needs of a manufacturing and production plant. Competencies in mechanic, electricity, hydraulic, pneumatic, any other pertinent education, an asset.
