Benefits

Do you want to build a career in wealth management and, in time, develop a client base that belongs to you? As a junior investment advisor at Diligence Wealth Management, you learn the profession within Manulife Wealth’s largest office in Canada, alongside some of the country’s top-performing investment advisors. Your role starts with business development. At the same time, you receive structured training that prepares you to become an independent investment advisor.

The potential of the profession

According to Investment Executive’s 2026 Brokerage Report Card, more than half of established investment advisors at Canadian investment dealers earn between $500,000 and $2M a year. These advisors built their client base over the years, and that’s exactly what this role lets you start doing.

Who we are

Founded in 2000, Diligence Wealth Management has become Manulife Wealth’s largest office in Canada. It has more than $15 billion in assets under administration and the strongest growth of any office in the division since its creation. Named Advisory Team of the Year in Canada by Wealth Professional in 2024 and 2025, the team serves entrepreneurs, incorporated professionals and families across Canada in investment, insurance, tax, corporate structures and estate planning, from its offices in Dorval, Québec City and Toronto.

Our model is built on developing the next generation. For more than 20 years, we’ve recruited young advisors early in their careers, trained them in our methods and supported them until they built their own client base. All of this is backed by the strength of Manulife, one of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Your role and key responsibilities

  • Make daily prospecting calls to entrepreneurs and professionals.
  • Book meetings between these prospects and a senior investment advisor.
  • Prepare the investment portfolio and retirement planning analyses for these files.
  • Use our methods, tools and databases to build and maintain your prospect pipeline.
  • Take an active part in our coaching and training program to develop your business development and client management skills.

Clear expectations and strong mentors

Our coaching program has a clear goal: to prepare you to become an independent investment advisor as quickly as possible, while making sure you’re ready and fully trained when the time comes. You learn how to prospect effectively and turn a meeting into a new client. You also build the technical skills of the job on real files: retirement planning, portfolio management, tax, insurance, corporate structures and estate planning. You receive coaching from experienced investment advisors and day-to-day support from a team that has your back, especially when you’re starting out.

Within 12 to 24 months, the goal is for you to become an independent investment advisor, with your own team and a clientele that belongs to you. Training then continues throughout your career.

What we offer

  • A base salary to start, until your recurring commissions exceed it.
  • A recurring commission on each client generated through your business development efforts and signed by a senior investment advisor. It is a share of the management fees calculated on the assets we manage for that client, and it is paid for as long as the client remains with the firm.
  • Recurring commissions that stay with you when you become an independent investment advisor.
  • Structured training and ongoing support throughout your career.

Requested skills

The profile we’re looking for:

  • University studies in any field. Our advisors come from a wide range of backgrounds, such as law, engineering, business administration and many others.
  • A recent university graduate or a young professional changing careers.
  • No designation or registration required at the time of hiring.
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Being at ease meeting new people and building professional relationships.
  • An exceptional work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Autonomy, discipline and initiative.
  • Perseverance and the ability to stay consistent in your efforts.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ambition to build your own practice.
  • A genuine interest in finance and a desire to learn quickly.
  • Fluency in French, spoken and written. English is a major asset, as we develop our clientele across Canada.

Our philosophy and work environment

Our growth rests on two pillars: disciplined business development and, above all, the value we bring to every client. The entrepreneurs, professionals and families who entrust us with their wealth do so because we take care of their entire situation: investment strategy, tax optimization, estate planning, retirement planning and outstanding service. That approach is what has made Diligence Manulife Wealth’s largest office in Canada.

At Diligence, we develop future entrepreneurs. Every junior investment advisor who joins the team is on track to become an independent investment advisor, with their own clientele and, in time, their own team. The work is done in-office, alongside other advisors who followed the same path, in a culture built on excellence, mutual support and pushing yourself further.

This path is for people who want to invest in their own future and build a clientele that belongs to them. You benefit from structured coaching, the expertise of experienced advisors and a clear path to independence.
