Tax Specialist - Segregated Funds

Our Canadian Segment Taxation Operations team is currently looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of our Segregated Fund products or tax processes to join our team as a Taxation Specialist.

Taxation Operations not only focuses client reporting to the Canadian Division business units and responds to client related Inquiries but also has the expertise to diagnose and solve policy level taxation discrepancies. Reporting to the Manager, Tax Operations, the primary responsibility of the incumbent will be the accurate creation and timely submission of tax slips using the Divisional Tax Database (DTD). You will also manage a variety of client and Advisor inquiries and transaction reporting with varying levels of complexity.

This role provides an opportunity to gain knowledge of the wide range of products and hone your complex case and interdepartmental relationship building skills. Tax Operations have insight and impact in customer and advisor relationships through interactions with all business areas.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize work assignments primarily received through the Automated Work Distribution (AWD) System

  • Generate tax slips using the Divisional Tax Database (DTD) for death claim settlements on Segregated Fund Registered Products

  • Accurately review and process transactions in a timely manner

  • Deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients via email, phone, and written correspondence

  • Research and analyze inquiries to provide effective, timely resolutions.

  • Plan and execute manual year-end tax reporting requirements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to manage dynamic volumes and meet service standards

Required Qualifications:

  • College diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong mathematical aptitude

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Ability to adapt positively to change and challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec

  • Knowledge of Segregated Fund Products (Asset)

Salary range is expected to be between

$42,825.00 CAD - $71,375.00 CAD
