Director of Finance, Global Operations

The Director of Finance, Global Operations will support the AVP, Global Operations Finance and be a key financial advisor to the teams reporting directly into the Global COO, including Operations Strategy, Global Resourcing COE, Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Contact Centre and more. This role will be critical to the reporting of Global Operations financial results and a key advisor to senior collaborators. This person is responsible for leading a team and partnering with various Operations Finance Directors to provide clear and actionable analysis for the monthly expense results, outlook, and budgets across the function. These updates will come in the shape of reviews with key Operations partners as well as with the broader FP&A team on a recurring basis. Linking the various drivers of Operations expenses (initiatives, volumes, etc.) across the numerous products, markets, and value chains (Contact Center, Claims, etc.) is key to succeeding in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • KPI Leadership and Centralization: Drive finance participation and leadership in KPI reporting through collaboration with Operations Strategy and segment Finance Directors, seeking opportunities to centralize, automate, and streamline processes.

  • Strategic Savings and Reporting: Support the development, tracking, and reporting of major multi-year strategic save initiatives with consolidated reporting by segment, leader, and savings type, ensuring accountability and addressing risks.

  • Global Initiatives: Act as the key expense/finance representative for major global initiatives and partner with the initiative owners to ensure financial transparency of benefits and costs into the program. Leverage subject matter authorities across the FP&A team where able

  • FP&A Leadership and Expense Management: Serve as the primary FP&A lead for Corporate Operations, responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and results reporting. As well as be responsible for the consolidation of Global Operations expenses, on a monthly basis through consultation and collaboration with other expense partners.

  • Transformation and Innovation: Educate colleagues on transforming results into comprehensive business stories, find opportunities to improve reporting processes, and lead initiatives to improve engagement and continuous improvement.

  • Collaboration and Risk Management: Act as a key finance representative for global initiatives, partner with segment and MBPS finance teams, manage expense risks, and cultivate a collaborative and innovative environment through team-building and relationship expansion.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in progressive accounting roles.

  • University degree in business, finance or equivalent

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate, and can negotiate and influence effectively

  • Results oriented, able to manage expectations, work under tight deadlines and handle contending priorities

  • Solid analytical and technical capability - ability to assimilate/summarize a large amount of information from multiple sources and present in a value-added form for senior management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and ability to learn new applications quickly

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA/MBA highly preferred

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, think ‘out of the box’, particularly in the areas requiring sound, independent judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality.

  • Strong business insight with ability to communicate complex concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner (written and verbal).

  • Smartview, Anaplan and Lawson knowledge (or other complex GL package) would be an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD
