Description
The Co-Chief Investment Strategist role is a highly visible position responsible for consolidating and delivering timely market and economic insight to financial advisors and institutional investors across Canada. Working with considerable internal and external resources, this role will leverage their well-developed background and up to date knowledge of economies, global markets, investment trends, portfolio management and sales and marketing to develop accurate and cohesive research for the Manulife Investment Management view. Exercising their exceptional communication and rapid judgement skills, the individual will dedicate most of their time delivering this messaging to a variety of discerning audiences across all channels including broker-dealers, financial advisors, professional buyers, and broadcast media. In addition, they will work closely with Product Management, Marketing and Sales in high profile role.
Position Responsibilities:
Spend 70%-80% of time dedicated to client interaction, marketing or promotion of Manulife Investment Management’s views, including appearing in television and print publications, at industry conferences, at client meetings, on quarterly advisor webinars/conference calls, in videos and podcasts, and on internal meetings and calls
Maintain keen and immediate intelligence of the markets, economy, products, sales and marketing initiatives and sub-advisor viewpoints.
Actively engage in investment research efforts and interact with research team to develop the Manulife Investment Management view.
Contribute content to white papers, thought pieces, daily/weekly/quarterly/annual market updates, podcasts, videos.
Qualifications:
Graduate degree in finance, economics, business, or related field preferred
CFA Preferred
20+ years of experience in the investment industry
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
Strong background in global markets and global asset allocation
Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence others
Exceptional oral, written, interpersonal and presentation skills
Well-developed research and analytical skills
Attention to detail and quality
Works effectively in fast-paced environment with a diverse group of contacts
Rapid judgement skills
Works well as a member of a team and individually

Salary range is expected to be between
$155,000.00 CAD - $300,500.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
