What we offer:Job Responsibilities:
Guide and lead employees to hit set goals and objectives. Support Production initiatives to reduce down time, improve efficiency and manage the tooling and maintenance staff based on priorities. Escalate issues as necessary to Maintenance and/or Tooling Manager. Coverage for both North and South buildings.
Requirements:
- Oversee the completion of quality of repairs by providing the following:
- “On floor” direction to maintenance personnel within the applicable area(s) to ensure that work requirements are properly prioritized; that the work is completed to an acceptable level of quality and within an acceptable time frame
- Effectively communicate with production to ensure maintenance efforts are focused on equipment that is causing downtime and scrap
- Effectively communicate with required personnel to ensure that part requirements are managed timely and cost-effectively
- Minimize downtime by ensuring that the P/M schedule is effective, up-to-date, and that all required spare parts are available
- Assist in the scheduling of maintenance activities, as required
- Provide support to production during trouble-shooting activities
- Attend authorized training in order to develop and/or maintain relevant job-related knowledge, techniques, skills, and/or certification.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts, input requisitions for new spare parts, as required.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals and update employee files, as required
- May be required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature.
- Perform, direct and/or carry out any other reasonable duty as required or assigned by Management.
- Follow all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
- Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures (including lock out), good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely fashion
- Develop and execute training plan.
- Lead the training of new/transferred/temporary employees
- Ensure all work performed within the applicable area(s), whether internal or by contractor, is of the highest craftsmanship and meets the design intention of Co-Ex-Tec.
- Ensure, with the cooperation of other Co-Ex-Tec departments and Corporate that the division achieves and maintains the highest possible Customer rating for satisfaction; strive for zero defects in all areas of the business.
- Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety
- Lead housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Initiate and/or participate in continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Certified Millwright or Industrial Mechanic or Electrician
- Post-Secondary Diploma or equivalent, an asset
- Minimum of 3 years related supervisory experience, preferably in the automotive industry
- Able to span all shifts and weekends, as required
- Proven experience in maintenance of plant and equipment
- Good knowledge of related codes, health and safety act, fire codes, building codes, environmental laws
- Able to read any circuit diagram and correlate to actual work piece
- Able to use required tools, including mechanical and electrical types
- Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
- Able to work well independently and within a group
- Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and controls
- Sound computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset
Compensation Range: $42-46/hour
