Job Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manufacturing Performance Analysis: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards to track and visualize core manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle times, machine utilization, and capacity analysis.
  • Data Modeling & BI Development: Connect to and extract data from various manufacturing systems, including ERP (Infor Trans4M), MES (Dassault Apriso), and local SQL/historian databases.
  • Quality Control & Scrap Reduction: Develop reports to monitor and analyze quality metrics such as First Pass Yield (FPY), defect rates, scrap percentages, and rework costs. Utilize Power BI to track material quality issues back to specific suppliers or production lots, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with Production Managers, Quality Engineers, and Plant Leadership to understand their data requirements and translate business questions into technical reporting solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all BI reports and datasets.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
  • Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
  • Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF-16949 standards
  • Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
  • Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum completion of post-secondary education in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • Experience in automotive industry an asset

SKILLS:

  • Power BI Mastery: Proven expertise in end-to-end Power BI development, including data transformation (Power Query/M), data modeling, DAX, and professional report/dashboard design.
  • Database Proficiency: Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating large datasets from relational databases.
  • Industry Context: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst or BI Developer within a manufacturing, automotive, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Analytical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate complex statistical information into clear, actionable business recommendations.
  • Extensive application support experience with MS-SQL
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. Infor Trans4M) and/or experience integrating data from SCADA/Historian systems.
  • Experience with Python or R for advanced statistical analysis. (an asset)
  • Experience with Databrick and its Data Lakehouse architecture (an asset)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a valid passport or other secure travel documentation permitting international travel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
