GENERAL FUNCTION

The Facilities Service Custodian maintains a clean environment for facility staff and guests.

Working in our Mississauga location from 9:30 am to 6 pm at 40 hours work week with flexibility as per business needs and reporting to the Production Manager. Training is provided during shift hours of 9:30 am to 6 pm. This position requires standing and walking for the majority of any shift, Work areas may be have a strong smell.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in and maintaining the cleanliness of the production areas.
• Empties all trash cans from production and office areas.
• Removes trash from the facility and places it in the appropriate receptacle.
• Dusts all furniture and fixture surfaces and vacuums carpets in entrances, hallways, and offices.
• Uses mop to clean non-carpeted production areas.
• Cleans restrooms, break rooms and offices with the appropriate cleaning products and to the acceptable standards.
• Mops restroom and break room floors.
• Cleans windows and blinds.
• Maintains facility grounds, including removal of trash, yard waste and initiating necessary minor repairs.
• Restocks all supplies
• Writing and recording basic information such as but limited to filling out forms, reports and taking messages.
• Communicate regularly with your manager on your progress and any issues encountered.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED (Equivalent)
• Previous Custodial experience is an asset.
• The ability to follow written and verbal instructions such as lists, notes, and labels.
• The ability to complete tasks independently.
• The ability to lift and move 30-50lbs at waist length on a regular basis.
• Willingness to work weekend or overtime as needed.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
