SUMMARY:

The Care Concierge plays an integral role in seamlessly integrating the new Pharmacy Care Clinic features into current service offerings and improved pharmacy workflow as well as creating a positive experience for Customers accessing pharmacy care clinic services in our stores.

The Care Concierge will receive, welcome, and check-in Customers to the pharmacy care clinics for their pharmacy services appointments. They will also contact Customers to arrange follow-up appointments and encourage grocery Customers to visit pharmacy for the first time. This role will also promote the PC Health app to Customers, and coordinate with pharmacists on duty to ensure the pharmacy care clinic runs smoothly at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service:

• Create a positive experience for Customers accessing Pharmacy clinic services

Facilitating Customer intake by verifying health card details, providing Customer registration forms, and creating or verifying Customer profiles in the internal system

• Raise awareness of pharmacy care clinic services available to Customers and answer their questions

Set Customer expectations as to Pharmacy process and wait times

• Help Customers navigate the Pharmacy space and services

Assist Pharmacist and Customers with filling out paperwork

Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirements

• Drive uptake of PC Health App with customer and Customers

Administration

Manage Customer appointments through the internal booking scheduler and ensuring all appointments are scheduled appropriately

• Check-out Customers, including booking of follow up appointments and processing out of pocket payments for pharmacy services, where applicable.

Maintain accurate Customer records in accordance with the College standards (i.e., HealthWATCH and MedMe)

• Complete start of day / end of day checklists for the Pharmacy Care Clinic

Other Duties

  • Receive customer prescriptions, gather all necessary information, ensure completeness of information

  • Maintain patient & drug information files

  • Check pharmaceutical products prepared by another regulated pharmacy technician or by unregulated pharmacy personnel, including specialized pharmacy packaging

  • Confirm accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for release

  • Administer vaccines when required

  • Preparation of prescription labels, affixing prescription, and auxiliary labels to prescription containers

  • Retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, mixing & reconstitution of medications

  • Clarify prescriptions with Prescribers

  • Price prescriptions, prepare receipts, invoices, letters, memos, & general filing

  • Maintaining perpetual inventory system in HealthWATCH

Skills and Qualifications

  • Registered pharmacy technician certification and maintained registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPhT)

  • High level of professionalism

  • Knowledge of professional discipline, technical specialties, related process

  • Ability to implement practical procedures of systems which are moderately complex

  • Experience working in a retail pharmacy, as a registered pharmacy technician or previous experience working in a medical clinic, ideally a family practice clinic is preferred

  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to consistently produce positive interactions with Customers

  • High professional standards and a strong track record of and commitment to maintaining Customer confidentiality

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both on the phone and in-person

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions

  • Ability to identify Customers who can benefit from pharmacy care clinic services support

  • Ability to maintain composure and focus on the Customer in challenging situations

  • Proven ability to adhere to processes and procedures and strong detailed orientation

  • Strong time management and organization skills and the ability to prioritize numerous tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and a comfortable learning new systems / software, technologies

  • Work cross functionally with pharmacy team members to deliver exceptional customer service through teamwork and collaboration
