Description
As a Site Lead you will be responsible for executing tasks as directed by Manager ensuring efficient workflow and quality processes to meet our delivery standards and operational goals within the pre-analytical environment.
Status: Temporary Full Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm
Additional Requirement: Flexible availability required

Your responsibilities will include:
Site Liaison
- Accountable for the appearance of the PSC(s); liaison with property managers, janitorial contractors, and escalation of issues to manager where appropriate
- Accountable for ensuring work order completion or escalation of issues
- Site contact for in-building clients
- Contract Services-liaison for new initiatives
- First point of contact for both internal and external customer issue resolution and escalates issues to manager as necessary
- First contact for on site patient complaint investigation and may help initiate the complaint resolution process
- Materials/Kanban monitoring
- Material, Logistics and laboratory operations issues management and escalation to manager as necessary
Regulatory compliance and Problem solving
- Provide assistance as required to explain/demonstrate policies and procedures
- Provide awareness and feedback on all matters of policy/procedure non-conformance (ex. Privacy, ISO, EHS) and escalates to manager as necessary. Works with involved parties to identify root cause and recommend corrective actions for manager approval.
- Investigate incidents (ex. recalls, ECGs) to determine root causes and recommend corrective/preventative actions for manager approval
- Assist manager in coordinating; completion of documents and/or audits related to quality regulatory requirements such as OLA/CAP/ISO and competencies
- Act as a liaison between PSC(s) and QR
- Ensure monthly maintenance sign off is complete (ex. centrifuges) and escalates to manager as needed
- Provide feedback on monthly operations reports
- Provide input/recommendations in budget planning process
SOPs and Document Control
- Coordinate SOP roll out, tracks completion, and maintains document control. Follows up on issues of non compliance and escalates to manager where necessary
- Provide input to the manager on Business Recovery Plan to keep current and initiates implementation as directed by manager
- Provide technical expertise (in absence of trainer/key operator)
Staffing
- Regularly schedules and arranges coverage for sick calls to achieve optimum productivity and efficient workflow as directed by the manager
- Coordinate vacation requests
- Schedule shift responsibilities, assigns routine tasks, and readjusts when necessary for workflow
- Review of timecards and escalation of exceptions to set schedule to the manager
- Assist manager with internal candidate interviewing
Staff Orientation and Training
- Orientation “go to” person for newly hired employees, employees new to a PSC, or new to a team
- Coordinate job specific orientation for new hires
- Recommend training/developmental opportunity needs (for all employees including those new to the team) to the manager
- Provide recommendations to improve team dynamics and team environment to the manager
- Provide immediate feedback to the employee on tasks that they have assigned. For tasks that are Manager-assigned, provide feedback to the Manager on performance.
Bench Work
- Backfill for other team leads or team members, in addition to own bench work.
- Required to fulfill the tasks as described in the LPT (Ont.) CTA (BC) role.
Environment, Health & Safety
- Ensure the manager is informed of incidents
- Assist with the coordination and reporting of investigations, root cause analysis, and recommendations to the manager
- Ensure EHS policies and procedures are up to date and signed off
- Review EHS monthly inspection sign off and work with Health and Safety representative to recommend corrective action
- Consistently works in compliance with all LifeLabs’ health and safety policies and procedures

- Keyboarding skills with approximately 40 wpm
- Requires valid Driver’s license, clean driving abstract and own vehicle
- A minimum of 3 years recent experience in phlebotomy and cardiac/holter monitoring
