Senior Systems Administrator – AIX / Linux (Level 3 Support)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator with 5+ years of progressive systems administration experience in large-scale, complex enterprise environments. This role requires Level 3 technical expertise—the successful candidate must be capable of independently diagnosing and resolving the most complex system issues, driving root cause analysis, and delivering sustainable solutions without escalation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 support for Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu) and IBM AIX environments, including advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Administer and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware and KVM, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Manage enterprise storage and backup solutions, with hands-on experience in Commvault, NetBackup, or similar platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues involving VPNs, Firewalls, IP connectivity, and port configurations.
  • Implement and maintain system monitoring and configuration tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Ansible, or Red Hat Satellite.
  • Develop and maintain automation and configuration management scripts using Bash, Python, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support projects, upgrades, and deployments with minimal disruption to production systems.
  • Lead incident resolution efforts, mentor junior team members, and contribute to knowledge base documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive systems administration experience in a large-scale, complex enterprise environment.
  • Proven Level 3 support expertise—able to resolve the most challenging technical issues without escalation.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu) and IBM AIX.
  • In-depth experience with enterprise backup, storage, virtualization, and automation technologies.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including troubleshooting at the protocol and configuration level.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and deliver lasting solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain high service quality under pressure.
