Product Manager, Business Development (Ontario OR British Columbia – Hybrid/Remote)

Position Summary:

The Product Manager is a key member of the Diagnostic Products and Solutions team within the Business and Consumer Markets group, reporting to the Interim Director, Core Diagnostics. This hybrid role can be based in Ontario or British Columbia, offering flexibility while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This is primarily a remote role, with occasional in-office days as needed for team meetings or collaboration.

 

In this role, you will design and implement strategies and tactics to drive growth across your assigned product portfolio. You will coordinate new product and service launches, track performance, provide marketing support, and translate the voice of the customer into actionable insights to support sales and business development.

 

As the interface between sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams- including Finance, IT, Operations, Medical, and Business Intelligence, you will ensure products and services are successfully launched, adopted, and optimized for growth. A successful Product Manager at LifeLabs combines strong business acumen, analytical expertise, and creative problem-solving to remove barriers, capitalize on opportunities, and support sales and marketing success.

 

What You’ll Do:


Execute and Measure:

  • Develop in-year and multi-year strategic plans informed by customer relationships, market analytics, internal insights, and industry trends.
  • Lead the launch, implementation, management, and growth of products, programs, and services within the portfolio.
  • Design and implement tactical product plans and customized offerings to meet market needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Develop and execute business plans that drive growth and achieve financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to increase product awareness and adoption.
  • Provide product training and support to sales teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Create tools to support sales efforts, including presentations, white papers, and marketing collateral.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, Operations, Medical, and Business Intelligence teams to identify efficiencies, cost savings, and solutions to operational challenges.


Understand the Market:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of markets, client needs, and competitive dynamics across Canada.
  • Track key medical developments related to assigned products, companion diagnostics, and therapeutic areas.
  • Stay informed on regulatory requirements, reimbursement pathways, and competitive offerings, and apply this knowledge to strategic planning.
  • Understand and articulate the unique value of LifeLabs services compared to competitors.
  • Maintain relationships and communicate effectively with sales reps, customers, KOLs, and healthcare providers.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • At least 5 years of Product Management experience in healthcare, diagnostics, or life sciences.
  • University education in Business, Science, or Healthcare.
  • Sales experience within diagnostics or healthcare is an asset.
  • Prior experience in the neurology field would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with experience in product or service launches.
  • Strong stakeholder and KOL management skills.
  • Proven ability to use data and analytics (including CRM tools) to drive insights and decisions.
  • Experience conducting market research and gathering Voice of Customer feedback.
  • Detail- and results-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
