IT Specialist

Job Description

An IT Specialist maintains, configures, and troubleshoots an organization's technological infrastructure. They support daily business operations by managing hardware and software installations, ensuring network security, and providing direct technical support to end-users.

Key Responsibilities
  • User Support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for on-site or remote employees.
  • System Administration: Deploy, configure, and maintain computers, servers, printers, and telecommunication devices.
  • Network & Data Security: Monitor systems to prevent security breaches, manage user authorizations, enforce data privacy, and maintain routine backups.
  • Maintenance & Upgrades: Conduct diagnostic tests, perform preventive maintenance, and manage the hardware/software lifecycle.
  • Training & Documentation: Educate staff on IT best practices and maintain accurate technical documentation for system configurations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: A diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or network administration.
  • Technical Proficiencies: Strong working knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, Microsoft 365, network protocols, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Soft Skills: Outstanding diagnostic and problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication, and a customer-service mindset.
