Description

As a Senior Claims Analyst you will serve as an internal subject matter specialist and play a key role interprets issues and proactively solves issues and recommends actionable solutions. Supporting the Senior Claims Manager by providing guidance on claims management best practices and ensuring effective collaboration across business units and external stakeholders. As a subject matter expert in third party liability claims, you will negotiate and settle claims and liaise with subcontractors’ insurers on non-litigated and litigated claims. You will also provide guidance, support, and development opportunities to enhance performance and ensure the effective management of Risk Coordinators.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, adjust, and negotiate self-insured claims (Property, Casualty, Auto) independently, including directing legal counsel and settling claims within delegated authority
  • Engage field adjusters, TPAs, and other specialists to support timely and effective claim resolutions
  • Lead resolution planning for complex, large-loss, and liability claims, using legal expertise and aligning with internal stakeholder needs
  • Interpret insurance policies and endorsements (e.g., DE, LEG), submit loss notices, and manage coverage issues by collaborating with legal, risk, brokers, and insurers
  • Conduct kickoff meetings with project teams, clarify claim procedures and responsibilities, and maintain regular communication with all stakeholders to ensure smooth claim handling
  • Oversee claim intake, financial documentation, system updates, and reporting, ensuring accurate data management and timely resolution tracking
  • Deliver data-driven insights on loss trends, recommend mitigation strategies, and lead implementation of system enhancements and process improvements
  • Develop training materials, lead educational sessions, support SOP/manual development, and serve as a subject matter expert on complex claims
  • Manage and coach team members to help foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and consistent claims handling practices

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of practical and relevant experience as a claims professional
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Risk Management is preferred
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
  • Extensive industry knowledge with hands-on experience managing complex liability claims
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve insurance claims
  • Proficient in RMIS platforms and adaptable to new technologies and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • High level of accuracy when handling large data volumes, including proficiency in creating and analyzing complex pivot tables in Excel
